MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Immigration (BI) officially unveiled on Wednesday its online student visa and permit application for foreigners.
According to BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado, the online portal is part of the agency’s goal to modernize its services.
Article continues after this advertisement“This is a priority project of the BI to make things easier and more secure for foreign students to apply for their visas and permits,” Viado said in a statement.

Viado said the new system would allow schools to directly apply online, effectively removing unnecessary paperwork submissions.

Viado said the new online portal would also contribute to making the Philippines a leading education hub in Asia.
